The 2023 Motion + Power Technology (MPT) Expo—a biennial AGMA event that connects top manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and experts in the mechanical, gear, electric and fluid power industries—will be held in Detroit, Michigan, on October 17-19, 2023.

Detroit is host to many manufacturing sectors, including automotive, aviation, defense, off-highway, food and beverage manufacturing, refining, research and many more. The city's manufacturing base makes it an excellent place for attendees to expand their networks within and outside of their respective fields.

There will be more than 200 exhibitors at the 2023 MPT Expo, including EMAG LLC, Gleason Corporation, Kapp Group and Reishauer, to name a few. Other key players from gear companies, machine tool suppliers, materials companies, lubrication suppliers and electric drive solutions will also be in attendance.

“We were proud to be one of the first shows to return in September 2021 as the industry was recovering from the pandemic. For MPT Expo 2023, we look forward to returning to Detroit—the heart of manufacturing—to showcase the innovation that our exhibitors are bringing to market,” stated Jenny Blackford, Vice President, Business Management Division, AGMA. “The past two years have shown us that people really want to get out and interact with each other. That desire is one of the essential building blocks for long-lasting business partnerships and personal friendships. We are look forward to seeing the industry come together next fall at MPT Expo 2023.”

Power Transmission Industry Will Gather In Person This September in St. Louis, MO

May 4, 2021, Alexandria, VA

The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) has officially opened registration for the 2021 Motion + Power Technology Expo (MPT Expo) taking place live and in person September 14–16 in St. Louis, MO.

This will be the second MPT Expo (formerly Gear Expo) and the first time the show has been in St. Louis. With a large manufacturing base in Missouri, AGMA and its partners are looking forward to hosting all parts of the power transmission supply chain in the mechanical, electric, and fluid power industries.

“Our industry had a challenging year navigating the pandemic, travel restrictions, sales leads and shifting supply chain bottle necks,” said Jenny Blackford, VP, AGMA Business Division and MPT Expo Director. “Research shows that there is an incredible demand for our industry’s products and technology and so we knew that we had to have to offer the tradeshow in person. Our members need and want to meet with their customers face to face and AGMA and its Board of Directors are ‘All In’ to provide the industry a great place to do business.”

MPT Expo will be one of the first tradeshows to go back to being in person and safety is going to be the top priority. Not only will the show following all federal, state, and local guidelines regarding COVID-19 restrictions, but all staff will be working closely with the city of St. Louis to ensure all attendees feel comfortable.

“We are very excited to welcome AGMA and the Motion + Power Technology Expo exhibitors and attendees to St. Louis. Manufacturing has a very important role in our city and we are proud to host this tradeshow that will offer an incredible opportunity to do business face-to-face,” said Kitty Ratcliffe, President, Explore St. Louis. “We are diligently working to make sure all safety measures are followed so that the in-person MPT Expo experience is successful.”

Power Transmission Industry Leaders are United for MPT Expo in St. Louis

September 3, 2020, Alexandria, VA

The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) Board of Directors met last week to discuss how the industry and the association are responding to meet the challenges of the current COVID-19 pandemic. The video conference call resulted in a powerful “We’re All In” promise from high-level executives of some of the largest gear manufacturing and supplier companies in the world to commit to hosting Motion + Power Technology Expo 2021. The MPT Expo will be held September 14–16, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Hundreds of tradeshows from all industries have either cancelled or postponed for 2020 leaving the power transmission industry scrambling for ways to connect with the supply chain. With a September 2021 show date, AGMA believes MPT Expo will be the first focused power transmission event to be held in the North America as the economy returns to normal. As such, AGMA supports a “We’re All In” message of support and invites the industry to join with AGMA to bring the industry together.

“MPT Expo has been a success since its founding as Gear Expo because it’s a focused show that supports the significant technical investment companies need to make in order to solve complex power transmission challenges,” said Jenny Blackford, AGMA’s Vice President, Business Management Division. “The AGMA Board’s ‘We’re All In’ message shows the positive impact that AGMA, its members and exhibitors can create when working together to bring the industry back to its pre COVID-19 levels.”

Members of the Board of Directors shared passion and excitement at the prospect that MPT Expo 2021 in St. Louis will bring the industry together for business connections and quality, solutions-oriented dialogue.

“MPT Expo (formerly Gear Expo), has always been a quality tradeshow that puts exhibitors directly in front of their buyers — as the attendees who come are ready to do business,” said John Cross, President & CTO, ASI Drives and Chairman, AGMA Board of Directors. “My fellow board members and I are “all in” for MPT Expo — and also support the efforts announced recently to develop robust digital resources to round out AGMA’s supply chain connections-oriented programming. We have a powerful combination now in place — industry leaders committed to working together with AGMA in order to provide sales opportunities, and giving the industry confidence and assurance that is needed through this pandemic.”

The MPT Expo will be taking place in St. Louis, MO, September 14–16, 2021. More information on how to exhibit or participate can be found here:  motionpowerexpo.com.
